Coach David: An overweight couch potato and engineer/physics nerd, I started jogging at 29 to lose wieght. I lost 35 pounds in 18 months, got addicted to running, and finished a marathon in just under 5 hours at age 31. Within 5 years I qualified for Boston with a 3:11:41 marathon, and competed in the Boston and Singapore marathons in 2006 while also becoming a track coach. Years passed. As a father with a busy job, I sank back to couch potoatoism. Now 42, I want to get off my butt, and maybe even run Boston again someday. I set out to run at least 3 miles a day for 100 straight days to get back on the wagon as a serious runner. I am still a nerd though. Some things can't be changed.
